Buildings are getting smarter. And for good reason. As the industry strives to hit net-zero targets and tenants expectations rise, commercial real estate owners need to get smarter. Smart building software and hardware can help reduce costs and improve the occupier experience. These days smart building software is being used to improve everything from sustainability credentials to the health & productivity of occupiers.
Recently, Unissu, a PropTech procurement platform, released their latest report ranking Smart Building Software solutions in Q1 2022. As part of this Unissu also included a list of startups to watch in 2022, which included Incube Space.
Unissu has one of the biggest networks of PropTech companies in the world. They regularly monitor each company through their platform, as they support companies with large real estate portfolios in procuring PropTech solutions.
Therefore we’re thrilled to be included. We hope to become one of the leading smart building software providers enabling CRE owners to provide sustainable, healthy & productive spaces that attract and retain tenants.
CubeOS is our pre-emptive building optimisation platform focussing on reducing energy waste, whilst improving occupier comfort.
CubeOS integrates with a landlords building management system, IoT sensors and external data to gain a complete insight into how a building is being used at any given time. We then analyse how changing space utilisation will impact indoor air quality and thermal comfort. CubeOS takes this and communicates with the building HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) system to proactively make adjustments, to avoid hitting unhealthy or uncomfortable thresholds.
By pre-empting changes to a buildings environment and pro-actively making changes, HVAC systems use less airflow and less power. This also means more consistent fan speeds, which eradicate the noise and temperature complaints that the more antiquated, or even traditional reactive systems, cause. At the same time, CubeOS is able to optimise indoor air quality and thermal comfort for occupiers.
2022 is a big one here at Incube Space as we look to expand operations beyond the UK. We are looking into new underserved regions where we can help building owners reduce their carbon footprint and provide healthier, more productive spaces to occupiers and visitors.
Thank you to Unissu for including Incube Space in the Smart Building Software report’s top startups to watch in 2022. Next year we hope to have made it as one of the top 20 smart building software vendors. Congratulations to all the other companies named and who are doing great work to push the industry forward.
